Today I collected a much treasured family crystalline vase, which was repaired and restored to perfection by Amy on your team. Working with the Melbourne team on preparing ACMI’s Collection objects for the Permanent Exhibition was a wonderful experience. Julian and Kristine attended our storage sites to inspect the objects prior to commencing treatment - this was a great opportunity to discuss our needs for the preparation of our objects for exhibition. ICS undertook work including metal treatments, surface cleaning and structural testing for a variety of objects, such as the beautiful Pye Camera with custom tripod and studio skid. We were lucky to follow up our object treatments with a visit to the Melbourne Lab to review the work completed, which was a wonderful way to gain a greater understanding of the Collection objects’ varying conditions and their ongoing care and maintenance. Kristine, Bruno and the team were a joy to work with; they were communicative, wonderfully skilled and had great time management. We are thoroughly impressed with the work they have done, and how some objects look better than we could have ever expected. A big thank you to ICS Melbourne!

I have had a happy afternoon unpacking all the works which arrived back and they look fabulous. My particular favorite is the Gruner landscape with cattle, which is now looking so clean and stable and not like it will fall out of its frame at any moment! Thank you particularly for the verso work to protect the labels with Perspex – I will make a point of showing this at the Donor Event when we hold it as I know they will all be fascinated by the efforts around not only the work but frame and other aspects which form part of the history of the work. The Streeton looks beautiful, and the greens on the Bunny are now so much more vibrant and fresh. Thank you to everyone for their beautiful work.

The 1892 panorama is now on temporary display in the museum many members and guests were captivated by the print and impressed with the high level of conservation works undertaken. Many often discussing the history of the grounds and the birth of the Sheffield Shield following the cricket match that features in the print. Many thanks for your hard work and dedication over the course of the treatment period and framing of the item. It looks fantastic and I'm glad it now has an extra level of protection for many years to come.
