Our team are passionate about restoring built heritage and breathing new life into architectural treasures of historical and cultural significance.
We specialise in restoring and conserving the finishes of built heritage, to the interior or the exterior, including paintwork, plaster, gilding, wallpaper, metal, and stone. Our aim is to ensure that all conservation work respects the integrity of the original design and materials. Our focus is on striking the balance between preserving the original fabric and implementing necessary interventions for the long-term stability and functionality of the building.
In addition to undertaking the physical conservation of built heritage, we also undertake thorough research and documentation to plan and advise on long term preservation for generations to come, including environmental controls and ongoing conservation needs.
The benefits of conserving built heritage are multi-faceted.
Built heritage contributes to the aesthetic appeal of cities and landscapes, enhancing local landscapes.
Conserving built heritage not only revitalises the physical structures, but also revives the stories, traditions, and memories embedded within them. Preserving this legacy of a society connects the past with the present and ensures cultural continuity as well as fostering a sense of identity and community pride.
The conservation of built heritage is also environmentally sustainable, as it reuses existing structures and materials, reducing the need for new construction and its associated environmental impacts.
