While at university, he worked part time as a jewellery studio assistant and at the Stanley Picker Gallery in London. Upon moving to Australia, Keir began his career working in the fine arts and bespoke design casting and fabrication industries.  This gave him opportunities to work with some of Australia’s most renowned artists such as Kathrine Del Barton and Tim Storrier.
