ICS Sydney has openings for experienced Heritage Trades Specialist with hands-on and project-management skills. Our positions will suit people with a trade background in heritage-related work, who like to work on a wide variety of materials and projects, and who enjoy working outdoors with occasional travel.
Role
You will apply your specialist trade skills in a variety of heritage and conservation settings within the discipline of your training. Working closely with conservators, you will devise and implement conservation methodologies, prepare quotations and tender submissions, manage projects and teams, prepare condition assessments and reports, and work closely with clients and subcontractors.
Site-based conservation and heritage projects form a significant component of the work, with a requirement for both hands-on technical and project management skills. Site-based projects include conservation of heritage objects and materials in or on buildings, engineering structures, ruins, monuments, and outdoor artworks.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Hands-on trade skills (a background in built heritage, stone, metal or objects will be highly regarded)
- Experience working on heritage or conservation projects in a similar role
- Strong commitment to ICS values and ethical professional practice
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Sound working knowledge of, and commitment to, safe work practices
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Initiative and willingness to learn
- Outcomes-focused, with a level-headed approach, helpful attitude and excellent work ethic
- Ability to foster good client relationships
- Confidence using business technology including Microsoft Office and digital cameras
- Australian citizenship or residency
- Relevant heritage trade / conservation qualification

Salary will be commensurate with experience in the range of $67,344 – 82,848 plus superannuation.
