Richard is the Head of Conservation for Objects and Outdoor Heritage, based at ICS Sydney. As head of department, he works with clients across all sectors to tailor-make solutions for their heritage needs. His expertise lies in the management of complex heritage sites, finding solutions to development issues and project managing built heritage.
Richard is a registered architect in NSW, and a qualified heritage architect. Over the last 25 years he has gained extensive experience in all aspects of architectural projects and heritage conservation. He was drawn to heritage conservation through an appreciation of fine materials and quality craftsmanship and is passionate about constantly increasing his knowledge of traditional techniques, materials, and design.
Prior to ICS Richard worked as the Deputy CEO of the National Trust of Australia (NSW) where he managed the major assets of the Trust’s extensive property portfolio, including world and state heritage listed sites, and was responsible for the strategic management of interpretation, programming, and collections management.
