Katie joined the ICS Paper Conservation Team in 2013. She holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Postgraduate Certificate in Science, and a Master of Cultural Material Conservation, specialising in paper conservation.
As an ICS Paper Conservator, Katie undertakes a range of tasks including surface cleaning, tear repairs, backing removals, stabilisation and flattening. She has led and coordinated projects involving large volumes of plans and books in preparation for digitisation and mould remediation.
She developed her conservation knowledge and skills while working in the conservation team at the Australian National Maritime Museum, and through internships with the National Gallery of Australia, and the Australian War Memorial. She also has attended professional workshops including Inpainting and Loss Compensation on Paper Conservation with Rita Udina in 2017, and New methods of paper bathing and stain removal with Richard Wolbers in 2018.
