After 20 years working as a Conservation framer, including owning a framing business, Jochen has a far-reaching knowledge of the conservation industry in Australia and an intimate knowledge of conservation considerations for a range of materials and situations.
Jochen's training is in all aspects of conservation picture framing including conservation mounting of paper-based artworks, paintings and objects, the manufacture of strainers and assembly of stretchers and the stretching of works on canvas. He has worked for many of the major Sydney institutions including the Australian National Maritime Museum, Historical Housing Trust, NSW State Library, The Art Gallery of NSW and the Powerhouse Museum.
