Fosters and Carlton United Breweries Collection

Following on from this work, in 2008 ICS was then commissioned by Fosters Australia to undertake an audit of the Fosters Group heritage collections throughout Australia, across 10 breweries and wineries.

The audit resulted in an assessment of all the heritage materials held at each of site:  identifying the quantity and type of materials, with recommendations for improving access and usability. The audit also identified a treasure trove of heritage material that Fosters could use for marketing and promotional campaigns.

These discoveries comprise painted pub signs, bottles and cans, brewing journals, scale models, engineering drawings and associated artefacts.

A cataloguing project was initiated, focusing initially on the significant beer and brewery-related collections held at Abbotsford brewery.
