Working with the Melbourne team on preparing ACMI’s Collection objects for the Permanent Exhibition was a wonderful experience. Julian and Kristine attended our storage sites to inspect the objects prior to commencing treatment - this was a great opportunity to discuss our needs for the preparation of our objects for exhibition. ICS undertook work including metal treatments, surface cleaning and structural testing for a variety of objects, such as the beautiful Pye Camera with custom tripod and studio skid. We were lucky to follow up our object treatments with a visit to the Melbourne Lab to review the work completed, which was a wonderful way to gain a greater understanding of the Collection objects’ varying conditions and their ongoing care and maintenance. Kristine, Bruno and the team were a joy to work with; they were communicative, wonderfully skilled and had great time management. We are thoroughly impressed with the work they have done, and how some objects look better than we could have ever expected. A big thank you to ICS Melbourne!
