BA Art Conservation (Cultural Management); Dip Leadership and Management

Suati joined ICS in June 2018, and works with both our Paintings and Paper departments.  Suati’s specialisation is the conservation of Latin-American paintings and works of art on paper.  She is particularly interested in Contemporary paintings. Suati began her conservation training at the age of 16, working for her father’s Conservation studio in La Mesa, Colombia.  During this time, Suati conserved artworks from private collections, galleries, and museums from Colombia and surrounding Latin American countries.  Since moving to Australia in 2018, Suati has continued to expand her experience to include contemporary, Indigenous and classical paintings.

At ICS, Suati has been involved in a wide variety of projects including the State Theatre Butterfly room, the Museum Train Station Mark Foy signs, the Tony MacGillick retrospective exhibition at Macquarie University, and a range of contemporary art works, sculptures and objects by Australian and Asian artists.
