MA (Cultural Materials Conservation)
Rehan joined ICS in April 2019 as an Objects Conservator. He has a background in archaeology and built heritage conservation, and a keen interest in the conservation of Natural History Materials. He has adaptable and versatile skills developed through previous roles with the Australian Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art, and strengthened through ongoing conservation challenges in his current role at ICS.
Rehan carries out conservation treatments on a wide range of materials and objects, such as ceramics, plastics, contemporary art, and metals. He has experience in preventive and remedial conservation for taxidermy, organic materials, ceramics, metal, and heritage materials. He also undertakes project management for sculptural and built heritage.
During his time with ICS, project highlights include conservation of artworks in preparation for exhibition at White Rabbit Gallery, and a complex interventive treatment of Juxtaposition I for Brisbane City Council.
