Bachelor of Arts (Hons)

Keir joined ICS in April 2021 as a Heritage Trade Specialist for our Objects and Outdoor Heritage department. Born and educated in the UK, Keir obtained a BA Hons in Fine Art from Kingston University, London in 2012 before moving to Australia later that year. During his time at university Keir worked part time as a jewellery studio assistant and at the Stanley Picker gallery in London. Upon moving to Australia Keir began his career working in the fine arts and bespoke design casting and fabrication industries.  This has afforded him opportunities to work with some of Australia’s most renowned artists such as Kathrine Del Barton and Tim Storrier.

Keir works with a variety of materials and artistic mediums, and has gained vast practical knowledge in working with most ferrous and non-ferrous metals.  For over a decade he has worked alongside numerous industry specialists, gaining firsthand experience of the causes and remedies for the dilapidation of metals in a variety of environments and climates.

Keir has also managed projects and sculpture installation nationally and internationally, including project management and fabrication for the installation of Jade Oakley’s ‘Kingdom of Butterflies’ at the National Taiwan University Children’s Cancer Hospital, Taipei.

Keir is a member of the AICCM and a TAFE Certified Blacksmith.
