Jennifer graduated with a Masters of Cultural Materials Conservation degree from the University of Melbourne, specialising in paper-based materials. She joined ICS as a Graduate Paper Conservator in January 2019.
Jennifer is actively developing her knowledge and skills as an emerging paper conservator. She has special interest in the conservation of bound volumes and works of art on paper, and has enriched her university training through various internships, including with The Grimwade Centre, State Library Victoria. She has also attended overseas workshops, including Traditional Techniques in the Conservation of Leather with James Reid Cunningham organised by the AIC at The University of Washington, and AICCM conferences.
Jennifer primarily works in the ICS Paper Team, and also supports Textiles and Easel Paintings projects. Jennifer undertakes conservation treatments on a variety of materials including works of art on paper, photographs and books. She also assists with project documentation, lab maintenance, handling and transportation of materials, and client relations.
Highlight projects for Jennifer include the in-situ treatment of water damaged hand-painted silk wallpaper, treatment and rehousing of paper and parchment documents for the Samuel Marsden archive collection, crease reduction of tapestries for White Rabbit Gallery, and exhibition preparation of materials for the Reserve Bank of Australia.
Jennifer is a current member of both the AICCM and the NSW Guild of Craft Bookbinders.
