Welcome to International Conservation Services (ICS), Australia's largest private conservation practice. We conserve a wide range of cultural and heritage objects and artefacts including paintings, furniture, textiles, paper, sculpture, archaeological artefacts, and wall finishes in buildings. To continue our amazing work, we need you to join our team in this full-time role based in Chatswood, Sydney.


As our Conservation Framer & Technician, you will provide technical, lab maintenance and basic administrative support for a wide range of conservation projects based in ICS laboratories and on-site. This is a role best suited to someone with practical hand skills, who thrives in managing a diverse range of tasks that support projects across the whole company. Your time management and communication skills will serve you well in this role as you provide advice on technical aspects of problem-solving.

Day to day activities may include:

Conservation support, eg. deframing, reframing, framing, using hand tools and electrical tools, photo-documentation, handling, packing and moving objects, artworks and materials, preparing treatment workspaces and site equipment, equipment maintenance, routine preparation of consumable materials, basic research and records maintenance.


• Artwork framing experience

• Excellent hands-on technical skills and willingness to learn from and support ICS conservators

• Good time management and the ability to work in a busy environment

• Strong commitment to WHS in the workplace

• A great sense of humour!

The salary will be commensurate with experience in the range of $61,680 - $67,152 plus 10% superannuation.
